Educational events:
Event planned for October 8, 2008
FONE activities:
- Host chapter for Spring conference in Tampa, chaired by Lisa Schlagel and supported by members; gifts to our members of NEPC Lab coats, gifts to participants of brief cases, citrus based jellies and assorted hospital give-aways; individual member institutions donated gift baskets; NEPC provided CE hours paperwork and evaluations summaries, manned registration table, introduced speakers; WHH donated special videos highlighting Polk County.
- NEPC had three presenters at FONY Spring Conference: Ruth Clifford (WHH) and Cyndi Dean (LRMC) on panels and Mary Jane Seymour with poster displays
- Regular reports to FONE board by President
- Participation in Strategic Planning by Walter Lupke
- Secretary Susie Hart assured legislative and other FONE generated messages forwarded to NEPC members
Special projects:
- Formal integration of President Elect into operational functions
- New Board Orientation manual; planning new Executive Committee Planning Meeting, called by President, to occur between elections and first member meeting of new year
- New member orientation manual
- Financial support of $500 towards Polk County Nurse Consortium
Scholarships awarded:
- Application process revised by Committee composed of Leslie Medders, Jenny Blank and Juliette Segree
- $3,000 awarded
- Announced at Nurse Consortium Dinner
By-Laws changes:
- President Elect shall serve as legislative liaison
- Education Chair charged with responsibility to update Board of Directors orientation plan
- Past President designated as Nominating Chair
- An Executive Committee meeting, to include the outgoing and incoming new board members, will be held prior to the first meeting in November to provide orientation, expectations, and to set goals for the new year, in accordance with NEPC’s mission statement.
