Vision
To be recognized as the voice of South Florida nursing leaders at the local, state and national level.
Mission
Support nursing leaders in South Florida through advocacy, education, and leadership development.
Strategies
Design of Future Patient Care Delivery Systems
- Support and encourage the development of new care delivery systems.
- Share outcomes through educational offerings.
- At least on presentation at fall conference will address AONE guiding principles.
- Develop regional partnerships across counties.
Healthful Practice Environments
- Provide educational offering addressing healthy work environment.
Workforce Supply/Competency
- Partner with local schools of nursing.
- Encourage participation in SFONE programs.
- Offer student rates.
- Facilitate dialogue between schools of nursing and CNOs regarding new graduate RNs and competency development.
- Integrate IT and student nurse experience.
- Offer scholarships.
Leadership
- Mentor aspiring leaders.
- Offer student discounts.
- Encourage Assistant Nurse Managers/aspiring leaders to attend fall conference.
- Education current leaders on succession planning.
Enhancing Membership Engagement
- Reach out to all counties in the South Florida region.
- Develop messaging regarding the value of SFONE/FONE membership.
- Send welcome letter to all renewing/new members.
- Membership drive in the fall.
- Publicize programs, scholarships, installation of new officers, leadership awards (Advance for Nursing).
Quality and Safety
- Include pertinent quality and safety topics during educational conferences.
- Recognize outstanding nursing leaders in South Florida region.
