The Florida Organization of Nurse Executives (FONE) and Treasure Coast Organization of Nurse Executives (TCONE) are hosting another exciting Educational Conference & Tradeshow on November 13 & 14, 2008 at The Jupiter Beach Resort in Jupiter entitled “Issues & Advances in Nurse Staffing.” The 2008 FONE Annual Membership Meeting will also take place at this time. Over 1000 Nurse Leaders are invited to attend this conference and participate in the Tradeshow. FONE currently has over 650 members... imagine what a great networking opportunity this is! Remember, these are nursing executives with the ability and resources to plan for the future.

The FONE Staffing Study Results Presentation and Statewide Discussion Group Summary are available to view online or  you can download as a Power Point Presentation for offline viewing.  The online presentation is best viewed using Internet Explorer and you may need to allow  "Active X" to run if prompted.  The presentation can be viewed in Outline Mode which displays a summary of all  slides and allows you to self navigate or you can view the presentation as a Slide Show which runs automatically . Please note that the Staffing Study Results Presentation contains a voice narrative. If you would like to view the presentation without sound, view the presentation in Outline Mode or turn off the sound on your computer.  

The FONE Board of Directors and members of the FONE Research Committee are pleased to announce the availability of a FONE Research Grant. The purpose of the grant is to support novice or beginning investigators in conducting nursing administration and leadership research. One grant, in the amount of $1000, will be awarded annually at the Spring FONE meeting. As a condition of receiving the award, recipients will agree to present the findings of their study at a subsequent FONE meeting and provide progress reports to the FONE Research Committee every six months for the duration of the project. Grant recipients are encouraged to attend the FONE Spring meeting to accept the award in person and provide a brief overview of the proposed study.

FONE Scholarship Season is open until September 2, 2008.

To be eligible for the committee’s consideration, each applicant must meet the following criteria:

• Current membership in FONE
• Active RN license in the state of Florida
• Currently enrolled or have proof of enrollment in one of the following programs: BSN, MSN/MBA, MBA, MPH, MHA, MSN, ARNP, Doctorate in Nursing, or Ph.D.

The scholarship recipient(s) will be awarded at the FONE Fall Annual Membership Meeting on November 13 & 14 at the Jupiter Beach Resort, Jupiter, Florida.
